Dive sites

(a special dive site)
Tokong Burung
Tokong Burung has a beautiful landscape and pristine corals reefs. This beautiful reef has many coral varieties – hard and soft. Due to the distance, Tokong Burung are seldom dived due to its distance. To go there, there will be an additional surcharge. Kindly check with us for further details. This dive site is highly recommended. (Depth: 8-25m | Level: Beginner to Advanced)

Marine Park
This site, located off the beach at the Marine Park headquarters, has 8 wrecks at varying depths. Inquisitive batfish follow divers on their exploration – starting just below the surface as you descend. The wrecks are all connected, so finding your way around is not difficult. Soft corals abound and shoals of fusiliers fish and trevallys can often be seen at the wrecks. (Depth: 8-25m | Level: Beginner)

Renggis Island
A truly wonderful dive site surrounding Renggis island, and always with a surprise. This beautiful reef has many coral varieties – hard and soft – and teems with marine life – puffer fish, angelfish, butterfly fish, sting rays, moray eels, trigger fish, giant grouper and more. Renggis is one of the best sites for seeing turtles, and harmless black tip reef sharks are often spotted. This site is often used for training dives and night dives – when Boris the giant barracuda likes to keep an eye on proceedings – at a distance, of course! (Depth: 6-14m | Level: Beginner)

Tomok Island
While occasionally a current can make this dive something of a challenge, the results are worth it. Nooks and crannies around boulders and a large soft coral patch can make this site a macro-lover’s paradise! (Depth: 15m | Level: Beginner)

Soyak Island
A small island surrounded by large underwater rocks, with many soft corals. In addition to many tropical reef fish, common sightings include a giant grouper, lion fish, large bump head parrot fish, nudibranchs, a large napoleon fish and turtles. (Depth: 5-20m | Level: Beginner and Advanced)

Pirate Reef
Teeming with juvenile and adult reef fish, Pirate Reef is (together with Renggis Island) one of two main breeding sites at Tioman. Hatching season in March-May sees huge numbers of tiny fish on the reef, with numbers hardly seeming to decrease over the year! There are many hard coral varieties making this busy colorful site ideal for photographers. Also used as a night dive site, when small bamboo sharks are often spotted. (Depth: 4-14m | Level: Beginner)

Sawadee and KM Sipadan
The deepest dive site close to the main island, Sawadee is often used for deep dive training as part of the Advanced Open Water course, as well as for leisure dives. The two wrecks have many soft and hard corals, and large shoals of fusiliers and kingfish are also found here. Small boxfish hover around the lines of the wrecks, and one wreck is home to a stone fish and a small (shy!) octopus. (Depth: 30m | Level: Advanced)

Southern Dive Sites

Tokong Bahara
The sites are pretty shallow but nicely covered in hard and soft corals and plenty of anemonies, black tip reefsharks and nurse sharks. (Depth: 18m | Level: Beginner and Advanced)

Batu Jahat
Batu Jahat lies in the far south of Tioman Island. It’s a small little rock sticking out of the ocean and being home to a myriad of small critters like nudibranchs and also healthy corals and pelagics. (Depth: 25m | Level: Advanced)

Light House
Light house is located near to Tokong Bahara dive site. The sites are slope but has nice and beautiful corals. Definitely a magnet for fishes such as snappers, fusiliers, black tip sharks and if lucky, even a whale shark. Current can be from moderate to strong. (Depth: 30m | Level: Beginner Advanced)

Nothern dive sites

Kador Bay
On the north side of the island, this sheltered bay has a variety of hard corals. Many common reef fish are found here in addition to turtles and blue spotted sting rays. (Depth: 5-18m | Level: Beginner)

Batu Malang
Sheltered on one side by Tulai Island and with deeper water on the other, Malang Rock provides two contrasting environments. On the sheltered side is a coral reef with extensive potato corals and pavona cactus. A school of small barracuda is often found here. On the other side, there are large rocks (an underwater continuation of the above-water island) with a variety of soft and hard corals. Sharks are sometimes seen in the deeper water channel. Other marine life includes turtles, trigger fish, lion fish and nudibranchs. (Depth: 6-14m | Level: Beginner and Advanced)

One Tree Bay
The shallow part is densely covered in hard corals and the cracks in the rocks are perfect hiding place for some giant moray eels. Where as deeper part is frequently visited by bumphead parrot fish and spanish mackarels who swim along some of the loosely lying boulders. (Depth: 20m | Level: Beginner and Advanced)

Labas Island
Similar to Malang Rock, Labas is essentially a group of large rocks. Tunnels running through the rocks create tunnels to swim through, popular with many divers. Turtles, puffer fish and blue spotted sting rays can be seen here in addition to many common reef fish. (Depth: 17m | Level: Advanced)

Fan Canyon
Fan Canyon dive site is composed of several huge rocks covered by magnificent hard and soft coral. Between two of the rocks there is a narrow canyon full of huge sea fans. It is better not to dive into the canyon to not damage this very fragile coral. (Depth: 12-27m |
Level: Beginner and Advanced)

Chebeh Island
Surrounded by enormous volcanic rocks and boulders, Chebeh Island can be dived at different places, depending on conditions. The site is famous for its occasional sightings of whale shark and manta rays during the annual migration (around April and October). Schools of large trevallys and snappers can be found. The rocks create tunnels and passages, making this a challenging site to explore. (Depth: 30m | Level: Advanced)

Golden Reef
Large rocks covered with a wide variety of soft corals. Numerous reef fish inhabit the site, including angel fish, butterfly fish and coral groupers. (Depth: 24m | Level: Advanced)

Sepoi Island
The rock formation, best with a good coral growth and lots of large brain corals. It’s an easy dive over a sloping hard coral reef where we don’t have to go deeper than about 15m. (Depth: 15m | Level: Beginner and Advanced)

Tiger Reef
In the channel between Sepoi and Labas islands lies Tiger Reef. A deep, open area with spectacular huge rocks, there are both soft and hard corals including sponges, gorgonian fans, fire corals and plate and table corals. The site has a variety of fish, including trevally, tuna and shoals of yellow tail snapper. Often a strong current makes for a challenging dive! (Depth: 25m | Level: Advanced)

North Point
A lovely, if sometimes strong drift dive along the main island of Tioman, this site is great for spotting things that we don’t often find at other sites. The topography ranges from lots of coral bommies gently sloping down to a depth of around 18m to a garden of whip corals to impressive granite boulders covered in hard and soft corals. Among these we find so much interesting marine life such as lion fish, titan and orange striped triggerfish, surgeonfish and even the occasional lobster or group of bump head parrotfish. (Depth: 20m | Level: Advanced)

Batu Sepoi
Another dive site rarely visited as it lies in the far north. The trip however is worth it since you can expect to see a vast variety of marine life including pelagics such as barracuda, sharks and travellies. (Depth: 20m | Level: Advanced)

Magician Rock
It lies in the middle of the ocean which not only results in strong currents but also to an abundance of marine life. (Depth: 25 | Level: Advanced)
